Phan Dinh Tue, chairman of Bamboo Airways, has submitted his resignation and is seeking shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for July 5.

The airline announced that a new director will be elected to succeed him, effective immediately until 2028, without disclosing any specifics.

The board of Bamboo Airways comprises five directors, including Tue. He assumed the role of chairman in February of the previous year, after joining the airline as a director in June 2023.

He formerly held the position of deputy general director at Sacombank since 2012. With forty years of expertise in finance and banking, he was assigned to lead the restructuring initiatives of Bamboo Airways.

He had a crucial role in shaping the airline’s restructuring strategy, business model, fleet configuration, staff organization, and financial resources.

This year, Bamboo Airways has demonstrated a commendable performance, especially on principal routes and significant tourist locations.

The airline reported a flight load factor of 90% in June. It operates a narrow-body fleet comprising Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, along with recent acquisitions of a leased Boeing 737-900E.
