Larry Ellison, the 80-year-old co-founder of Oracle, has eclipsed Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg to become the world's second richest individual, with a net worth of $254 billion.

Shares of the IT behemoth ascended to a record high over $200 following the company's earnings report, which exceeded Wall Street's projections last Wednesday, as reported by Fortune. For the 2025 fiscal year concluding last month, Oracle disclosed an 8% increase in overall revenue to $57.4 billion, an adjusted earnings per share of $1.70, and record sales of $15.9 billion.

The company's shares surged 13% the day following the announcement of results, subsequently increasing an additional 7% by last Friday afternoon, reaching a historic $215 per share.

Ellison, a co-founder of Oracle in 1977 with an approximate 41% ownership, experienced a substantial increase in his wealth, gaining $25 billion on Thursday and an additional $16 billion the following day, according to Forbes. With this increase, Ellison has above Amazon's Bezos, whose wealth is $227.2 billion, and Meta's Zuckerberg, at $240.1 billion, in the world wealth rankings.

Oracle's robust financial performance signifies its strategic position in the escalating global AI competition. Ellison has emphasized his company's profound integration within enterprise data architecture as a competitive advantage versus other significant contenders, as reported by Benzinga.

"Oracle is already thriving in this new epoch of cloud computing and AI, and this is merely the inception," he stated during the company's earnings call last Friday.

Oracle, a leader in corporate software, derives a significant portion of its revenue from cloud infrastructure and data solutions. It is also hosting the U.S. data of the widely used social media platform TikTok.
