Wintour, who has directed Vogue since 1988, will continue to serve as chief content officer for Condé Nast.

In a transition at Condé Nast, Anna Wintour will relinquish her position as editor in chief of Vogue, which will pursue a new leader for U.S. editorial.
Wintour will remain with the company, serving as chief content officer for Condé Nast and global editorial director of Vogue, supervising the fashion media brand's global production. As Chief Content Officer, Wintour supervises all of the company's editorial properties, excluding The New Yorker, which includes GQ, Wired, Glamour, and Bon Appétit.
Condé Nast has been reorganizing several of its prominent brands, appointing Vogue veteran Mark Guiducci as global editorial director of Vanity Fair after the departure of editor-in-chief Radhika Jones.
Every global editorial brand appoints an editorial director for each nation or market, overseen by a global editorial director who manages all of them.
By appointing a new head of U.S. editorial for Vogue, Wintour will have the capacity to devote more time to overseeing the brand's global production and other Condé Nast magazines.
