Extremely rare 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A with only 7,303 miles is available for auction.

A prime specimen of Mazda’s renowned rotary sports vehicle is set for auction: a 2002 RX-7 Series 8 Spirit R Type A with merely 7,303 km (4,500 miles) recorded on the odometer. This limited-edition coupe was delivered new in Japan and subsequently exported to the UAE, having been serviced solely by Mazda throughout its existence and retaining its factory-original condition.

The Spirit R signified the concluding phase of the RX-7’s manufacture and is recognized as the most sought-after model. Of the three Spirit R models, the Type A is the most driver-centric, equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, carbon-Kevlar Recaro bucket seats, and a rear seat removal for enhanced weight reduction. This specimen is presented in Innocent Blue Mica, featuring a black interior, red cloth seats, and factory 17-inch forged BBS wheels. Additional distinctive characteristics comprise a modified front bumper, an adjustable rear wing, red brake calipers, and Spirit R-specific emblems and instrumentation.

The vehicle is equipped with Mazda's renowned 13B twin-turbo rotary engine, delivering 206 kW to the rear wheels. This unmodified Type A model, of which only 1,044 were produced, offers a rare chance for collectors in pursuit of a genuine, low-mileage example of JDM history. As of this writing, the auction has four days remaining for bids, with the highest current price at $45,250 USD.
