Netflix is broadening its most prosperous action franchise with Tygo, a new South Korean action thriller featuring LISA of BLACKPINK with action heavyweight Don Lee and Squid Game actor Lee Jin-uk. The project expands the streamer’s Extraction franchise, utilising the exceptional artistry of Korean cinema.

The Extraction franchise has established global streaming records. The inaugural film was watched by 90 million households in its first month, while the sequel dominated Netflix’s Global Top 10 for seven straight weeks, accumulating over 123 million views. This remarkable achievement illustrates the significant demand for the universe Tygo is about to enter.

The new film delves into Korea’s criminal underbelly, chronicling Tygo (Don Lee), a former child soldier transformed into a mercenary, who pursues vengeance after a pivotal operation fails. The story is derived from an original graphic novel by Anthony and Joe Russo, contributing a dynamic pedigree to the production.

This film signifies LISA's inaugural feature. She articulated her enthusiasm, stating, “Participating in an action film has perpetually been a dream of mine, thus my film debut in such a thrilling project is profoundly significant.” Don Lee asserted that “Tygo introduces a uniquely Korean identity into the global Extraction universe,” guaranteeing a dynamic amalgamation of international action narrative with South Korea’s renowned cinematic expertise.
