His fortune of $275.9 billion USD is propelled by Oracle's flourishing cloud and AI sector, evidenced by a 32% increase in stock value in June. Ellison's net worth increased by more than $56 billion USD in June, approaching Elon Musk's leading position.

Larry Ellison, co-founder and chairman of Oracle, has officially become the second richest individual in the world following a notable reorganization of global wealth rankings. This significant ascent, propelled by the burgeoning profitability of Oracle’s cloud computing sector, results in Ellison’s wealth surpassing that of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

As of July 2025, Ellison's net worth has significantly increased, totaling around $275.9 billion USD. This notable increase, encompassing a gain exceeding $56 billion USD since early June, is primarily ascribed to a substantial rise in Oracle’s stock prices—reportedly a 32% surge in June alone—driven by robust earnings reports and the escalating demand for enterprise AI solutions and cloud infrastructure.

This new rating positions Ellison unequivocally behind only Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who presently occupies the foremost position. Currently, Mark Zuckerberg occupies third place, while Jeff Bezos is in fourth, as per the latest Forbes real-time billionaire rankings.

Ellison, an octogenarian technology magnate who co-founded Oracle in 1977, has witnessed his company transform from a database software entity into a global cloud computing behemoth. His significant ownership stake—approximately 41% of Oracle’s shares—has immediately converted the company’s financial successes into his personal fortune. This accomplishment highlights the volatile character of the IT sector's top riches, where advancements in fields such as AI and cloud services can swiftly alter the worldwide wealth distribution.
