Jaeger-LeCoultre Introduces New Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 Wristwatches

The Calibre 985 is available in pink gold with a brown dial or in platinum with either polished or diamond-set bezels.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled three new varieties of the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 and a new interpretation of the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel, reflecting its ongoing commitment to mechanical precision and artistic elegance.

The Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 is reimagined in a pink gold case with a brown dial and in two platinum cases—one with a polished bezel and the other adorned with 72 baguette-cut diamonds. The Master Grande Tradition case, designated for Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most complex movements, consists of over 80 components and incorporates screwed-in lugs, along with alternating polished, brushed, and micro-blasted finishes.

Subtle dial enhancements elevate the aesthetic and functional allure of the Calibre 985. A hand-bevelled bridge traverses the dial, while the tourbillon aperture is set back to provide optical depth. Micro-blasted minute tracks, opaline subdials that alter hue under varying illumination, and laser-engraved, relief-style calendar numerals contribute to textural complexity. Below the tourbillon, a curved 20-second scale and three blued hands affixed to the cage highlight the maison’s horological accuracy, as the tourbillon executes a complete rotation every 60 seconds.

The caseback of this 42mm timepiece features a sapphire crystal that showcases Haute Horlogerie finishing, including blued screws, sunburst Côtes de Genève, snailing, and hand-bevelling, complemented by a 22k rose-gold rotor engraved with the 1851 Great Exhibition gold-medal motif of the maison’s founder, Antoine LeCoultre.

The Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel is a limited edition comprising 50 units. The timepiece features an 18k pink gold case and a beautiful anthracite grey Grand Feu enamel dial, with a case diameter of 40mm. The anthracite-grey Grand Feu enamel dial features a hand-guilloché sunray pattern and a circular-guilloché date subdial. Five layers of enamel, each subjected to a firing temperature of 800 degrees Celsius, produce exceptional depth and intensity, while the contemporary Calibre 978 tourbillon movement powers a sub-gram titanium cage and a dual-level hairspring, all meticulously hand-finished to illustrate La Grande Maison’s synthesis of technical excellence and enduring elegance.
