Oasis commenced their much awaited Live ‘25 reunion tour earlier this month, 16 years subsequent to the public discord between the Gallagher brothers that resulted in the band's dissolution. The influence of the Britpop band on British culture in the 1990s is significant; they defined a generation via both their music and their manner. Oasis' aesthetic, characterized by bucket hats, Burberry checks, fishtail parkas, and buttoned polo shirts, epitomized the Britpop uniform. This style fused classic mod fashion, tailored football terrace attire, and a Manchester-inspired attitude, capturing a pivotal moment in British music that resonated globally.

Throughout the entirety, Berghaus – the British outerwear brand with a Germanic nomenclature – was consistently present in the context. During an Oasis concert in Oslo in 1997, Liam Gallagher donned a red Meru jacket from Berghaus on stage. Liam Gallagher, the younger sibling, was recognized for his affinity for lengthy parkas and distinctive outerwear; nonetheless, his selection that evening – immortalized in a now-iconic photograph – propelled the brand into the awareness of both Oasis enthusiasts and fashion aficionados.

Berghaus is commemorating the occasion by reissuing the Meru jacket in "the precise colorway worn by Liam" as part of the Concert Collection, a limited-edition capsule that includes two additional classic items from the Berghaus legacy. The Meru jacket, initially introduced in 1994, is now offered in “Red/Blue” (Liam’s selection), “Purple/Grey,” and “Green/Black.” Berghaus is reintroducing the Trango jacket, a robust waterproof garment from 1986, which it characterizes as a “specialist powerhouse.” The Trango incorporates a triple layer of GORE-TEX for optimal wind and water protection, available in “Red/Blue,” “Red/Grey,” and “Grey/Dark Blue” options. In conjunction with the jackets, the brand is introducing the 1997 Fleece – a novel addition to its collection, despite its nomenclature implying otherwise – which it describes as a “staple [with] the DNA of an icon.” The fleece is designed with a boxy fit for enhanced comfort, available in the colors “Red/Blue,” “Red/Grey,” and “Green/Grey.”

The complete Concert Collection is now accessible on Berghaus' website with pricing commencing at £120 GBP (about $162 USD).
