Blending lightweight titanium construction with celestial design cues, this latest release refreshes the house’s signature diver.

The Superman is undoubtedly the timepiece most individuals associate with Yema in discussions. The French dive watch, introduced in the late 1960s, has been a consistent element of the brand's collection. The Superman has appeared in several unexpected variations, including bronze cases driven by one of Yema's latest production movements and a startling tourbillon-powered model. Both depend on movements crafted at Yema's factories in Morteau, located in the French Jura, which emphasise the resurgence of French mechanical watchmaking. The most recent episode is the Superman Titanium MoonTide, a limited edition with a complete titanium construction, a textured dial reminiscent of the lunar surface, and the brand's CMM.11 automatic calibre.
The timepiece retains the traditional Superman silhouette, now featuring a 38.5mm case constructed entirely from Grade 2 titanium, including the strap. With a thickness of 11.3mm, a lug-to-lug measurement of 46mm, and a lug width of 19mm, it offers a lightweight sensation on the wrist while maintaining the durability anticipated from a genuine diver's watch. The case conforms comfortably to the wrist because to the contoured lugs that align with its design. The water resistance is a comforting 300 meters, as expected from a Superman.
The dial prominently displays the MoonTide name. The textured surface, reminiscent of the moon's craggy appearance, is created by an oil-press technique applied to a sandblasted titanium substrate. The design imparts a cratered appearance to the dial while maintaining a sense of simplicity. Utilised markers and black-plated hands enhanced with Super-LumiNova BGW9 Grade A ensure excellent readability, with the date window positioned at six o’clock. The dial is encircled by a unidirectional ceramic bezel featuring a complete 0-60 minute scale and a bright triangle at the 12 o’clock position. The dial is positioned beneath a double-domed sapphire crystal. Similar to other Superman models, the crown is equipped with Yema’s bezel-lock technology, which is intended to avert inadvertent adjustment of the timing bezel when diving.
The rear of the Superman Titanium MoonTide features a sapphire caseback that displays the CMM.11 manufacturing movement. This calibre enhances the architecture established with the CMM.10 by incorporating a date function. The movement operates at 4Hz, providing a 70-hour power reserve and chronometric accuracy of -3/+5 seconds per day, with a symmetrical design and shock resistance. The timepiece is equipped with Yema’s titanium Scales bracelet, which draws inspiration from the brand's classic dive watches of the 1960s. The watch is available for order with an FKM rubber strap for a more athletic configuration. The Yema Superman Titanium MoonTide is restricted to 400 units, priced at EUR 2,190 with a titanium bracelet or EUR 1,890 with a rubber strap.
