A watch that fulfills its designation merits distinction, particularly applicable to the complete collection of new Panerai Navy SEALs Submersible timepieces. The mere sight of the four watches evokes the picture of special forces operatives. It is acknowledged that this observation applies to numerous Panerai timepieces, not solely the four models within the Navy SEALs Submersible collection; this exemplifies the advantage held by the Swiss-Italian horologist due to its unique aesthetics and identity.

The four new timepieces exhibit degraded black to anthracite dials, beige desert camouflage-inspired Super-Luminova on the hands, markers, and subdials, as well as similarly themed Super-Luminova-treated zero-position markers on the unidirectional rotating bezels. Additionally, they feature bullseye-style small seconds counters at 9 o’clock and the inscription “NAVY SEALS” at 6 o’clock on the dials. The emblem of the Navy SEALs, the renowned trident, is laser-engraved on the sturdy casebacks of all four models.

The four new watches are the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Navy SEALs PAM01518, Submersible QuarantaQuattro GMT Navy SEALs Carbotech™ PAM01513, Submersible Navy SEALs Titanio PAM01669, and Submersible Chrono Navy SEALs Titanio PAM01521.

PAM01518, despite being the most straightforward model, possesses a unique characteristic that may intrigue Panerai enthusiasts. This signifies the conspicuous lack of a date display, notwithstanding the presence of the P.900 automatic calibre movement. This manufactured movement powers numerous Panerai models, all featuring a date function, as a cursory examination of the Panerai website reveals. Despite the brand's silence, PAM01518 may indeed be the sole no-date Submersible. The 44mm timepiece is encased in brushed 316L stainless steel and has a water resistant rating of 300 meters. The power reserve capacity is three days.

The PAM01521, the most intricate timepiece, represents an innovative variation of an existing model within Panerai's regatta collection. This is a flyback chronograph with a specific function that permits the chronograph minute hand to be adjusted backward by one minute at a time using the pusher located at 4 o’clock. Upon activation by the start pusher at 10 o’clock, the chronograph initiates a countdown to zero minutes using the previously described minute hand, which is likewise adorned with beige Super-Luminova. The countdown feature is facilitated by the automatic calibre P.9100/R, operational from at least 2013. The 47mm timepiece is encased in DLC-coated titanium and is rated for water resistance up to 500 meters.

The two surviving watches are the PAM01513, a genuine GMT timepiece, and the PAM01669, which features time and date functions. Both watches are not new in terms of functionality; therefore, we will forgo introductions and get directly to the specs. PAM01513 features a 44mm Carbotech case, accompanied by a bezel crafted from the same proprietary material invented by Panerai; the timepiece is water-resistant up to 500 meters. The automated calibre P.900/GMT drives the action, featuring a power reserve of three days.

The distinctive Carbotech material also characterizes PAM01669, forming the bezel, while the remainder of the 47mm timepiece is composed of brushed titanium. The water resistance is rated at 300 meters, and the movement is the automated P.9010 rather than the anticipated P.900, offering a power reserve of three days.

All four timepieces are exclusive to Panerai shops and are now available. All are categorized as standard production, with the exception of PAM01521, which is a limited edition comprising just 80 pieces. Nonetheless, we anticipate that all editions will be difficult to obtain, as prior Navy SEALs models have garnered significant popularity.
