The premium performance cycling brand MAAP has expedited its global retail expansion with the inauguration of MAAP LaB Sydney. The newly established store, located in the artistic core of Darlinghurst’s Oxford & Foley development, represents the brand’s ninth international outlet and its most expansive retail space to date, reaching this achievement within three years after launching its inaugural Australian store in Melbourne.

The Sydney LaB epitomises MAAP’s “Life around Bikes” philosophy, acting as a cultural hub for the local cycling community. Conceived by the esteemed Clare Cousins Architects, the interior showcases a tactile, high-end style that harmonises stainless steel, sandy render, and terracotta hues, accentuated by MAAP’s distinctive brilliant colours. The functional concept includes a coffee bar and a designated community space to promote events, shared narratives, and authentic local engagement.

Oliver Cousins, Co-founder and Co-CEO of MAAP, articulated the importance of the opening, stating, “Each LaB possesses its unique energy, and Sydney is no exception.” Establishing in Darlinghurst situates us in one of the city's most emblematic neighbourhoods. We anticipate enhancing the community with a venue that honours cycling, design, and a lifestyle centred on bicycles. The store transcends conventional retail, cultivating relationships and commemorating the advancement of bicycle culture in one of Sydney's most vibrant districts.
