WWD announces the official release of the Lee Jeans and Feng Chen Wang's SS26 101 series in Europe and North America. This notable collection commemorates the 101st anniversary of Lee’s iconic denim archives by merging classic American cowboy silhouettes with the London-based Chinese designer’s distinctive deconstructed style.

The collaboration focuses on the legacy of the Lee 101, employing the 101J Rider Jacket and 101 Jeans as its main platforms for innovation. Feng Chen Wang reinterprets these historical designs through a design principle termed “Architectural Deconstruction.” The resulting garments reimagine conventional proportions and incorporate asymmetric seams while meticulously maintaining heritage elements, including the classic cinch back and dual leather patch. The collaboration represents a significant discourse between Eastern and Western design ideologies, examining the intricate equilibrium between structure and unrestrained liberty.

The collection is significantly inspired by the significance of bamboo. The brand asserts that bamboo symbolises strength and flexibility, aptly reflecting the transformative nature of denim as it is influenced by time and use. This motif is realised through organic visual effects, featuring delicate leaf patterns and specialised gradient dyeing in hues of blue. To guarantee the uniqueness of each garment, the apparel collection incorporates sophisticated artisanal methods such as laser printing and complex tie-dye techniques throughout the washing process.
