Hublot has introduced the world's inaugural multi-coloured homogeneous ceramic bezel with the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic.

Writing about Hublot poses a challenge due to the frequent reliance on terms like innovation and inventive, as advised by the brand's press releases. The world's most challenging two-syllable watch brand name has introduced what may be a true innovation in horology — multi-colored homogeneous ceramic. Following closely after the LVMH Watch Week and few weeks before Watches and Wonders Geneva, Hublot preempts the news cycle with a genuine world’s first with the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic. This is the culmination of years of study and development, enabling the R&D section to demonstrate its value.
Hublot is a forerunner in the production of vividly hued ceramics, and Magic Ceramic may represent the pinnacle of its craftsmanship to date. In contrast to traditional ceramic timepieces, the limited-edition Big Bang Unico model showcases a seamless amalgamation of colors, accomplished using a patent-pending technique, resulting in a visually arresting impact. The broader watch industry has previously noted similarities between Hublot's recent actions and those of a competitor disclosed last year. Hublot is poised to release authentic timepieces, with the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic announced as a limited edition of 20 units.

Accomplishing Hublot's chromatic achievement necessitated profound expertise in ceramic coloring and thermal control. Hublot’s research and development team, referred to as the “alchemists of time,” devised a proprietary method that guarantees consistent color dispersion while maintaining the material's longevity. The bezel of the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic is constructed from dark grey ceramic, highlighted by vibrant blue circles that create an organic, abstract design. It is essential to note that just the bezel is composed of Magic Ceramic, while the remainder of the case is crafted from bead-blasted and polished black ceramic. Undoubtedly, a complete Magic Ceramic watch is forthcoming.
“I experience profound pride in witnessing our team actualize a material that quintessentially encapsulates Hublot’s essence: a nuanced amalgamation of science, alchemy, and audacious playfulness,” stated Hublot Director of R&D Mathias Buttet. “Following over four years of research, we have perfected the technique of amalgamating vibrant, patented colors—a genuine technical achievement.” Due to the ingenuity and skill of our young engineers at the forefront, Hublot's scientific methodology and innovative ethos will persist in captivating audiences.

This narrative pertains to a timepiece rather than solely its bezel; so, I will provide a brief overview of the Big Bang model as a whole. The watch features a complete black lined rubber strap, effectively combining modern design with practicality. The movement is completed in a coordinating gray hue to the bezel and offers a commendable power reserve of 72 hours.
