Bespoke design emphasizes lightweight engineering and purity.

Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) has unveiled its inaugural commission, the S1 LM, at Monterey Car Week 2025. The road-legal supercar, restricted to only five units, commemorates Murray's historic 1995 Le Mans triumph while reflecting his design ethos of lightweight engineering and enduring elegance.

The S1 LM boasts a newly reduced roofline and complete carbon fiber bodywork, incorporating Le Mans-inspired aerodynamics, such as a splitter, diffuser, and dual-element rear wing. At its essence is a custom 4.3-liter V12 generating over 690 hp, capable of reaching 12,100 rpm. The engine, coupled with a manual transmission sourced from the T.50s and a custom Inconel exhaust encased in 18-karat gold shielding, provides exceptional responsiveness and a unique race-inspired auditory experience.

A central driving position anchors a cockpit characterized by minimalist design and lightweight materials, highlighting Murray's notion of "engineering art." The suspension design, custom dampers, and a rigidly mounted engine enhance the driving experience, establishing a direct connection between the driver and the vehicle. Professor Gordon Murray characterized the S1 LM as “timeless and beautiful,” emphasizing its equilibrium and proportion rather than extravagant design fads. The five vehicles, constructed by GMSV's Bespoke business, are already reserved, with initial deliveries anticipated in 2026.
