The new timepiece pairs billowing blue mother-of-pearl with diamond accents, creating a celestial stage for its radiant moonphase complication.

In 2024, Glashütte Original launched the Serenade Luna, which has moon phase indicators. In contrast to the Panomatic Luna, which is a diminutive version of the men’s PanomaticLunar featuring an off-centered dial and Panorama date window, the Serenade Luna was originally designed as a women’s timepiece with a compact 32.5mm diameter, adorned with diamonds, and a conventional layout that includes the moon phase aperture at 6 o’clock. The set now includes the new Serenade Luna Skyline Blue.
The standout feature of the Skyline Blue model is its exquisite light-blue mother-of-pearl dial. Renowned for its natural iridescence, mother-of-pearl exhibits a spectrum of colors reminiscent of a rainbow. The dial emits a silvery-blue luminescence or a more striking steely-grey shade, contingent upon the angle. The inherent cloud-like patterns of mother-of-pearl give the dial the appearance of being adorned with undulating clouds.
The white gold hour markers are adorned with 20 brilliant-cut diamonds and denoted by white gold hands. The primary feature is the poetic moon phase indicator positioned in a cut-out at 6 o’clock, encased by a white gold crescent-shaped construction adorned with a blue mother-of-pearl sky and silver-printed stars. The moon, fashioned from white mother-of-pearl, is situated within a recessed disc, accompanied by a sky of blue mother-of-pearl. The 32.5mm polished stainless steel case, tailored for smaller wrists, features a slender 8.9mm profile. The current iteration, offered with either smooth or diamond-set bezels, features 48 brilliant-cut diamonds, imparting an elegant shimmer to the timepiece. The crown, shaped like a bloom, is adorned with a rose-cut diamond.

The Serenade Luna, beyond its aesthetic appeal, is equipped with the exclusive automatic calibre 35, created by Glashütte Original to accommodate its compact case. The movement, measuring only 3.8mm in thickness, features integrated moon phases and a substantial barrel that ensures a 60-hour power reserve. The movement, observable via the glass caseback, showcases meticulously hand-finished embellishments, such as the stripes on the distinctive Glashütte three-quarter plate, beveled edges, polished and blued screws, and the solid red gold rotor adorned with a seashell motif. The Serenade Luna Skyline Blue on a polished stainless steel bracelet with a double-folding clasp is priced at EUR 16,200, but the version with a blue alligator leather strap and a pin buckle retails for EUR 15,000.
