The early days were brutal. “I didn’t understand what the customers were saying. I felt frustrated and embarrassed when my work was criticized,” she recalls. One particular memory remains vivid: after completing a full set of nail art for a client, the customer asked to have it all removed and requested another technician. “I couldn’t hold back my tears,” - she shares.

Yet she didn’t give up. Encouraged by her family and coworkers, she chose to persevere—day by day, client by client, and stroke by stroke.

What started as a small salon with seven technicians has since evolved into a bustling space with 16 staff members. After nearly four years of expansion and renovation, Star Nails now serves a loyal clientele of young professionals, nurses, and students.

Tuyet believes the beauty industry is more than aesthetics—it’s emotional labor. “At some point, I fell in love with this job without realizing it. I meet people from all walks of life, and their stories became a part of mine.”
