The Department of Financial Recovery (DFR) is expanding multilingual support for its Rebate Monthly Authorization Processing Fee (MAPF) program to help more U.S. small businesses navigate the reimbursement process.

DFR is an independent organization, not a government agency. The initiative provides application guidance in 17 languages, addressing language and procedural barriers that can make financial assistance harder to access.
Making MAPF More Accessible
The Monthly Authorization Processing Fee (MAPF) program provides eligible U.S. small businesses with reimbursement for 30% to 75% of qualifying monthly credit card authorization processing fees, up to $35,000. The reimbursement does not need to be repaid to DFR.
While the program offers an opportunity to reduce recurring operating costs, completing the required registration and verification can be challenging for business owners who face language barriers or are unfamiliar with the application process. DFR's multilingual support initiative is designed to close that gap.
Application Guidance in 17 Languages
Through its Application Support Division, DFR provides guidance in 17 languages, helping business owners understand program requirements, navigate the application and verification process, and complete the necessary steps to receive their reimbursement.
Application Controllers serve as a point of assistance throughout this process. They can explain MAPF requirements and guide applicants through the appropriate forms, but they cannot complete or submit applications on behalf of businesses.
Applicants are required to enter their own information so the system can accurately verify the business and its location. Keeping the submission directly connected to the applicant also helps protect the integrity of the review process.
Reaching Underserved Business Communities
The expanded language support reflects a broader effort to reach business communities that have historically faced greater barriers when navigating financial assistance programs.
By making guidance available in multiple languages while maintaining direct applicant verification, DFR is working to give more eligible small businesses a clear path to understanding and accessing MAPF reimbursement.
