Louis Vuitton creates the Olympic and Paralympic medals and the trunks for housing the medals and torches for Paris 2024.

Dedicated to their support of athletic performance, Louis Vuitton has created the Medals Trunks and Torches Trunks for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. In alignment with the maison's objective for this year's Olympic Games, these trunks exemplify their tradition in craftsmanship and trunkmaking.

According to Monsieur Louis Vuitton's design philosophy, creating a trunk necessitates a first comprehension of the items it is intended to safeguard and exhibit. The Medals Trunks, adorned with the maison’s signature Monogram canvas and equipped with brass corners and closures, as has been customary for Louis Vuitton trunks since the 1850s, contain the medals that represent the challenges and victories of the competing Olympians and Paralympians. French doors, akin to the Malle Coiffeuse, unfold to a central part flanked by two hinged "wings," unveiling custom-designed drawers and a black matte leather inside that accommodates all 468 medals.

The Torches Trunks, designed to accommodate the Olympic and Paralympic Torches by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur, are utilitarian yet elegant items that embody the maison’s heritage in travel art and innovation. The Olympic Torch is journeying from Olympia to Marseille and then to Paris, while the Paralympic Torch will arrive from Stoke Mandeville in August. The Torches Trunks are responsible for safeguarding them before and during their travels.

The outside is adorned with Louis Vuitton's iconic Damier canvas, complemented by classic brass protecting corners and closures. Circular sockets at the trunk's base and soft black matte leather provide secure and snug retention for the torches during transport.

In a demonstration of the maison's pride and dedication to the athletic spirit, over 30 Louis Vuitton workers will partake in the Olympic Torch Relay, which will involve more than 11,000 torchbearers en route to Paris.
