A surge in consumer appetite for both heritage collections and new releases propelled Richemont's jewelry maisons to 24% growth, contributing to an overall 20% increase in first-quarter sales.

Richemont exceeded expert predictions with an exceptional first-quarter result fueled by extraordinary demand for its jewelry brands and a highly successful pricing approach. The luxury company announced a 20% rise in sales at constant exchange rates for the quarter ending June 30, 2026. Total income attained an astonishing €6.33 billion EUR. Investors reacted positively to the trading update, resulting in an almost 7% increase in the company's share price during Zurich trading. The jewelry sector alone produced €4.73 billion EUR, markedly surpassing the remainder of the portfolio with a 24% increase in sales. Heritage brands such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Buccellati, and Vhernier have jointly achieved their ninth successive quarter of double-digit expansion. Both contemporary and traditional collections had remarkable appeal to consumers. Consumers persisted in favoring classic items such as the Cartier Love bracelet while also exploring contemporary selections like the Clash Colors series.
A comprehensive pricing strategy has enabled the Swiss conglomerate to surpass rivals in an unstable macroeconomic landscape. Financial analysts observed that the organization adeptly serves both ultra-high-net-worth individuals and middle-class clientele. At the zenith of the market, rare expensive jewelry items fetch above $30 million USD. Aspirational consumers perceive significant worth in spending $3,000 USD on a daily-wear item made from valuable metals. This bifurcated strategy safeguards brand reputation while preserving substantial volume. The direct-to-consumer model significantly propelled this growth. Retail sales constituted 71 percent of total group revenue, increasing by 24% to reach €4.5 billion EUR. Digital transactions surged by 18%, whilst wholesale income increased by 9%. The specialized watch segment of the jewelry division increased by 8%, reaching €873 million EUR. The "other" category, which includes fashion and accessory labels like Dunhill and Peter Millar, experienced a 9% increase.
Geographically, Japan experienced the most significant regional expansion at 36%, supported by a blend of domestic demand and heightened visitor expenditure. The Americas experienced a significant increase of 27%. The Asia-Pacific area experienced a 21% increase, significantly bolstered by robust demand in mainland China and Hong Kong. European sales increased by 11%, whilst the Middle East and Africa experienced a resurgence in positive growth at 3% despite geopolitical uncertainties affecting regional travel. Richemont strengthened its financial position by divesting a 5 percent share in the duty-free company Avolta. The sale contributed €400 million EUR to the company's finances, resulting in a strong net cash balance of 9.1 billion euros.
