The Copenhagen restaurant Noma has been ranked as the world's best restaurant for the fifth time.

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants rating has been released, with Danish restaurant Noma reclaiming the top position, a rank it previously held in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014.
Co-owner Rene Redzepi received the award in Antwerp, Belgium alongside the Noma team on stage.
Due to the newly implemented rating regulations, this will be the final occasion the restaurant receives the prize. The World’s 50 Best now removes entrants from the list if they achieve the top position. Noma remained eligible as this is its inaugural victory for the award in its new location.

Noma equals El Bulli (Catalonia, Spain, operated by chef Ferran Adrià) for the highest number of wins in history. As a result of the rule modifications, no other restaurant will equal the scores. The alteration was presented as a diversity push; nonetheless, in 2019, the Times disclosed that chefs were apprehensive about a decline in their repute as they relinquished the top position for which they had advocated the modification.
Noma reclaimed the premier position after previously occupying second place in the 2019 rankings. The ranks from the previous year (2020) were annulled due to the coronavirus, and the organization recognized that the persistent epidemic had altered the voting protocols.
Noma presents three distinct meals throughout the year: seafood season for the initial six months, vegetable season during the summer, and game and forest in the winter.
Prior to the pandemic, unrestricted global travel allowed a position on the top 50 list to significantly enhance business for these eateries.
“Reservations skyrocketed,” Redzepi informed the audience when receiving the top accolade today and reminisced about the initial occasion when Noma secured victory. Tuesdays became into Saturdays. Our website had many crashes.
