Artyzen Singapore is a sophisticated and adapted refuge for urban residents who appreciate a considerable amount of greenery and tranquility.

From last June to this February, the Orchard precinct introduced a total of four new hotels. A unusual phenomenon elsewhere, however in the tight metropolis of Singapore, the abundance of hospitality companies competing for limited territory signifies both economic vitality and a thriving luxury sector. Although Artyzen Singapore was the second hotel to commence operations, its subdued introduction ultimately accentuated its modest existence among the numerous opulent structures in our hospitality landscape, reflecting its commitment to tranquility and serenity.

The fourth hotel inaugurated by the Artyzen Hospitality Group (after two in Shanghai and one in Macau) emphasizes its design-oriented approach while being acutely aware of its cultural and natural surroundings. This parcel of land previously contained an estate called Villa Marie, a mansion from the 1940s constructed by the passionate botanist and great-grandson of philanthropist Tan Tock Seng, Tan Hoon Siang. It now accommodates Artyzen’s impressive 142-room residence, which embraces the site's botanical legacy, featuring verdant greenery adorning its trellised columns, while throughout the structure, there is a deliberate design to facilitate airflow and rejuvenate the environment.

The lobby entry is concealed behind a verdant screen of climbing plants, rather than facing the main road. Raw concrete constitutes the building's foundation, serving as a neutral canvas enhanced by expansive, extended ceilings and archways to promote airflow. In addition to being bordered by areas of greenery, floral themes embellish the interior, reflecting the distinctive tapestry of Singapore’s cultural landscape — designed by the esteemed architecture company ONG&ONG and the acclaimed interior design studio Nic Graham & Associates. Complementing the structure is an infinity pool and herb garden on the rooftop, serving as optimal natural cooling systems to support this convergence of humanity and environment.

A notable aspect of the visit is the ubiquitous presence of ceiling fans, which not only reflects a typical characteristic of Singaporean residences but also significantly enhances the distinctive experience at Artyzen. All rooms are equipped with balconies; suites feature private balconies that extend over two floors, sufficiently spacious to accommodate modest gatherings or occasions such as solemnizations. Incorporate the capacity to relish the inherent humidity of our tropical climate devoid of heat, facilitated by the nostalgic, rhythmic motion of the ceiling fan, epitomizing comfort in nature. The gentle air circulation within the room harmonizes perfectly with the visual warmth of the East-Meets-West elements of concrete, herringbone timber, stone, and brass. In other words, there is a distinct contrast in coziness when compared to the conventional comfort provided by air conditioning at most hotels—though that option is available here as well, so there is no need for anxiety.

When combined with the primary room featuring a ceiling height of four meters, one can more accurately envision the space's design as both "homely" and distinctly Singaporean. A 448 sqm penthouse is available for reservation, representing the pinnacle of luxury, ideal for the most exceptional occasions. A necessary escape or relief from the tedium of everyday life.

The Dyson hairdryer is essential for final touches and deserves recognition. The separation of the toilet from the shower and bathtub is considered unappealing by some travelers. However, all other experiences, especially the numerous restaurants and the health and wellness amenities integrated within the hotel, are equally significant.

Quenino, by Victor Liong, the resident fine-dining establishment on level 4, showcases the pinnacle of contemporary Asian cuisine by innovatively experimenting with familiar flavors and recombining them into delightful surprises. Led by the eponymous chef, born in Brunei to Malaysian parents of Chinese descent and raised in Australia, the cuisine is rich in complexity and flair, reflecting his third culture upbringing and admiration for the region's many gastronomic influences.

The experience culminates at Artyzen’s Wellness & Workout floor, which features a state-of-the-art Technogym-equipped workout center, two tranquil yoga pavilions, and many spa treatment rooms. In addition to HIIT sessions and workshops, drop-in guided meditation and yoga sessions are offered to facilitate a deeper connection with your chakras, prior to indulging in scrubs or massages for optimal relaxation.

“Artyzen Singapore is more than a hotel; it is a cultural venue,” asserts Jeff Crowe, General Manager of Artyzen. “Embracing culture and emotional intelligence is central to our philosophy.” Our aim is to provide possibilities and stimulate growth within communities by honoring the beauty, traditions, heritage, and uniqueness of each place. They will leave a lasting impact on Singapore’s hospitality landscape, characterized by warmth and generosity.
