Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, disclosed that he had divested his entire supercar collection, valued at approximately GBP13 million (US$17.5 million).

“I no longer possess any cars," Hamilton informed reporters last Thursday in anticipation of the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, as reported by Motorsport. I disposed of all my vehicles. I have developed a greater interest in art recently. If I were to acquire an automobile, it would be the F40. However, that is an exquisite work of art.

Hamilton is considered as one of the preeminent Formula 1 drivers, having secured seven World Championships (equaling Michael Schumacher’s record) and possessing the record for the most victories, among other accolades.

His assemblage of rare, high-performance cars has long garnered interest. As a dedicated vegan and vocal proponent of environmental concerns, the 40-year-old stated in 2019 that he has started to relinquish some of his cars in favor of hybrid or electric ones. He has also sold his private jet.

I no longer operate any of the cars I possess. I only drive my (electric Mercedes) EQC," The Independent cited him as stating in 2020, when he was still at Mercedes. Prior to his separation from them, Hamilton was said to have accumulated a collection of supercars valued at approximately GBP13 million, distributed between his residences in Monaco and Los Angeles.

Although the complete roster was never officially confirmed, some of the high-end cars he has been observed driving or has previously acknowledged owning include a rare Ferrari 599 SA Aperta, one of only 80 ever manufactured and valued at over GBP2 million, and a classic Ford Mustang Shelby, estimated to exceed GBP4 million, as reported by The Mirror.
