The Parisian provider of refined, quotidian minimalism is officially embarking on a new phase. A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Création) has declared the selection of Ludivine Poiblanc as its new Artistic Director. Assuming the creative leadership of the esteemed French label, Poiblanc contributes extensive editorial and consulting expertise to a brand that has epitomized understated, resolute sophistication since the late 1980s. The fashion industry anticipates how her meticulous precision will manifest in A.P.C.’s renowned realm of raw denim and classic ready-to-wear, with her debut collections imminent.

Dividing her time between Paris and New York, Poiblanc has established a formidable reputation as one of the most prominent creative voices of her generation. Her resume highlights significant contributions to esteemed publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and WSJ Magazine, in addition to considerable consultancy for prominent fashion firms. She intends to apply her thorough, detail-oriented perspective to A.P.C., overseeing product development and the brand's comprehensive visual identity.

For Poiblanc, the new position is a natural fit. She remarked that perpetuating the heritage established by founders Judith and Jean Touitou is an uncommon privilege. “I have consistently been attracted to its radical simplicity—an archetypal wardrobe defined by a subtle sense of dissent and a distinctly French disposition,” Poiblanc articulated, underscoring her affinity for the brand’s fiercely independent spirit. The leadership team at A.P.C. expresses that excitement. President Stephanie Phair emphasized that Poiblanc’s hiring is in complete accordance with the company’s plan for focused expansion. By embracing A.P.C.’s established legacy in denim and accessories, the brand seeks to persist in offering a ready-to-wear collection that appeals to a sophisticated and opinionated clientele.

Founder Jean Touitou, who established the label in 1987 with the belief that quality design should not necessitate expensive costs, conveyed full confidence in his new successor. He commended her evident brilliance, incisive wit, and unique personal style, observing that she embodies the essential attributes required to represent the brand’s heritage while creatively guiding its future. In an industry increasingly characterized by cacophonous trends and ephemeral spectacles, A.P.C. consistently distinguishes itself by prioritizing taste above clamor. Under the creative direction of Ludivine Poiblanc, the brand is ideally situated to demonstrate that exquisitely crafted, “irreverently classic” apparel will consistently occupy a niche in contemporary wardrobes.
