In a move to drive high-margin growth and consumer engagement ahead of the seasonal peak, the global apparel retailer has debuted a specialized summer portfolio featuring proprietary artist prints and tailored silhouettes.

UNIQLO F.RISSO “Made for Dreaming” will be released on June 19 through UNIQLO retail locations and the official UNIQLO online store.
UNIQLO has unveiled UNIQLO F.RISSO, a summer capsule collection created in collaboration with GU Creative Director Francesco Risso, themed “Made for Dreaming,” set to launch on June 19. The collection encompasses men's and women's categories, ranging from everyday attire to holiday outfits, incorporating Risso's distinctive creative style—characterized by hand-drawn designs, sun-bleached hues, and structured softness—within UNIQLO's accessible garment framework. The design choices across the collection are coherent and intentional. Hand-drawn prints are featured prominently on the collection's essential statement pieces, imparting a handcrafted aspect that contrasts with mass production in a constructive manner. The color palette alludes to fabric exposed to sunlight: subdued, somewhat faded, and soft rather than vibrant. Silhouettes harmonize rigidity and softness concurrently, a challenging feat that embodies Risso’s ten-year expertise in creating clothing that maintain a distinct form while ensuring bodily comfort. The proportions are crafted to facilitate natural movement instead of enforcing a rigid silhouette on the wearer.

The clothing collection encompasses a curated selection. The bow tie blouse, three-dimensional one-piece dress, and frill-hem flare long skirt each have unique prints and exemplify the collection's more expressive womenswear direction. The 100% cotton broad shirt and dry kanoko polo shirt establish a subdued material aesthetic for the men's collection, but the giant T-shirt bridges both categories. A silk scarf and twill cap complete the accessories, providing utilitarian carry items that expand the "Made for Dreaming" palette beyond apparel.
The collection's internal coherence is consistent across all these areas. Risso has dedicated his career, particularly during his nine years at Marni, to cultivating a design aesthetic centered on craftsmanship, innovative print designs, and a conscious dismissal of excessive refinement. Integrating that sensibility into UNIQLO's platform, which emphasizes high-quality materials and meticulous construction at affordable prices, yields a product that neither entity could achieve alone. UNIQLO facilitates the dissemination of Risso's concepts to a truly extensive audience. Risso offers a creative viewpoint that imparts an expressive quality to UNIQLO’s capsule program, which is not inherent to its fundamental LifeWear collection. The 2022 collaboration between UNIQLO and Marni shown their capacity for effective partnership. “Made for Dreaming” represents Risso's inaugural endeavor for UNIQLO, executed independently of the Marni identity as a creative framework.
