Lisa’s journey is the quintessential portrait of elegance under pressure. Arriving from Vietnam in 1991, expectant with her first child and fueled by the necessity of survival, she entered the beauty industry in 1994. What began as a means to provide for her family blossomed into a thirty-year odyssey that mirrors the evolution of American beauty culture itself.

“It has been a very rewarding and fruitful industry,” Lisa muses. While she started doing nails to provide steady work for her whole family, the craft became a lifelong passion that has been paying off ever since.

Despite the ups and downs, her studio has not only persevered but is currently thriving—a testament to her grit and business acumen.  

For Lisa, the secret to longevity is staying curious. “The industry is constantly evolving,” she reflects. “You have to always be a student. Otherwise, you’ll be stagnant and fizzle out.”
