Elon Musk Reclaims Trillionaire Status as Tesla and SpaceX Shares Surge
Elon Musk's fortune surpassed $1 trillion in early October 2026, exceeding the combined wealth of the next three billionaires as gains in Tesla and SpaceX lifted his net worth.

Elon Musk reclaimed his position as the world's only trillionaire on October 5, 2026, following a rally in shares of Tesla and SpaceX. According to Forbes, his net worth reached approximately $1 trillion, marking a $30.6 billion increase from the previous trading session.
The surge widened Musk's lead over other billionaires. At the time, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos held an estimated $371.5 billion, followed by Google co-founder Larry Page at $284.3 billion and Dell Technologies chairman Michael Dell at $272.2 billion. Their combined fortunes totaled approximately $928 billion, still below Musk's estimated wealth.
Musk first crossed the trillion-dollar threshold in June 2026 following SpaceX's record-breaking initial public offering. However, subsequent declines in SpaceX and Tesla shares briefly pushed his fortune below the milestone.
His latest recovery was driven by renewed investor confidence in both companies. Tesla's third-quarter vehicle deliveries exceeded market expectations, while SpaceX shares gained momentum amid positive analyst assessments. According to Bloomberg, Musk's wealth increased by approximately $65 billion in a single day, reaching $1.04 trillion on October 5.
The milestone underscores the extraordinary scale of wealth generated by the technology and aerospace industries. Nevertheless, Musk's fortune remains closely tied to market valuations, making his trillionaire status susceptible to fluctuations in Tesla and SpaceX shares.
