Created as a regional exclusive, the release bridges BMW’s performance car and motorcycle divisions through a tightly capped collector series.

In an uncommon interdivisional collaboration, BMW South Africa and BMW Motorrad South Africa have formally joined forces to release a hyper-limited collection of twin special editions. The collection presents the BMW M2 Coupé RR Edition, complemented by corresponding versions of the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR superbikes, thus connecting the domains of two- and four-wheeled performance. The capsule is only designated for the South African market and is limited to 10 pieces per model, elevating these already impressive machines to highly sought-after collector's goods. This localised edition functions as a mechanical tribute to the familial DNA inherent in the German marque's illustrious motorsport divisions.

The centrepiece of the collection, the M2 RR Edition, is presented in a formidable Black Sapphire Metallic hue. The coupe enhances its assertive demeanour with numerous factory M Performance enhancements. The ride height decreases by 20mm due to a specialised M Performance suspension system featuring distinctive red springs. Staggered Jet Black M Performance wheels, measuring 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the back, define the vehicle's aggressive silhouette. Aerodynamic modifications enhance the visual aesthetic, with a new front splitter with red accents, a roof spoiler, and a fixed rear wing adorned with a red stripe. The M2 RR Edition maintains its track-oriented design within the cabin. The interior features custom black and red upholstery, including a red 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel to assist drivers in maintaining orientation during dynamic driving. A conventional sunroof completes the opulent features. Targeting driving enthusiasts, manufacturing is evenly divided: five units will be equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the other five will incorporate an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Despite the car's tremendous anticipation, collectors must demonstrate patience, as the coupe is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The S 1000 RR M2 Edition and the M 1000 RR M2 Edition embody the car's aggressive design language in a superbike format optimised for track dominance. Both motorcycles are finished in Black Storm Metallic and intricately adorned with vivid red accents. The S 1000 RR features crimson accents on its fairings and seat cover. The premium M 1000 RR enhances its design with red accents on its exposed carbon fibre wheels, aerodynamic winglets, and fuel tank. Both motorcycles utilise standard Akrapovič exhaust systems, directly reflecting the auditory characteristics of their four-wheeled equivalents.
