Chanel has formally appointed the esteemed American artist Ayo Edebiri as its latest House Ambassador, acknowledging her exceptional talent and audacious approach to artistic expression. The appointment precedes the debut collection of new creative director Matthieu Blazy for the French label during Paris Fashion Week, marking the confirmation of the first ambassador under his leadership.

Edebiri, a distinguished actor, director, and screenwriter recognized for transcending limits in works such as The Bear and After the Hunt, embodies a vibrant new perspective in the arts. Her incisive intellect, singular perspective, and distinctive aesthetic harmonize well with the luxury fashion house's timeless essence.

The collaboration arises from a profound mutual respect between Edebiri and Matthieu Blazy. Edebiri, who recently attended the Venice and New York Film Festivals in Chanel attire, commended Blazy's creations, asserting, “His designs instill confidence in me, yet I remain true to myself.” I am delighted to commence this journey with Matthieu and Chanel.

Blazy commended Edebiri's diverse career and temperament, highlighting her power, intellect, and tenderness. He stated, “Nothing can impede her.” I love her audacity, her beauty, her intellect, and her selection of artistic endeavors.

Edebiri will officially assume her post by attending Blazy’s maiden collection for the house at the Spring/Summer 2026 show at the Grand Palais in Paris on Monday, October 6th. This partnership formally ties a prominent Hollywood celebrity with the Parisian heritage of sophistication and artistic influence.
