Apple Sets September 9 Event for iPhone 18 Pro and Rumored Foldable iPhone
Apple's upcoming “Surprise and shine” event is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and its first foldable smartphone, potentially marking a major shift in the company's mobile portfolio.

Apple has officially announced its next major product event, scheduled for September 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT. Titled Surprise and shine, the presentation will be livestreamed through Apple's website and YouTube channel, alongside an in-person media gathering at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
The event is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with rumored upgrades including a variable-aperture main camera, a smaller Dynamic Island and Apple's new C2 cellular modem. While the devices are anticipated to retain their predecessors' overall dimensions, reports suggest four potential finishes: dark cherry, black, silver and light blue.
The most anticipated announcement is Apple's first foldable iPhone, tentatively known as the iPhone Ultra. Rumored specifications include a book-style design with a 5.3- to 5.5-inch external display and a 7.6- to 7.8-inch internal screen. The device could feature a titanium frame, a nearly crease-free display and Touch ID integrated into the power button, with an estimated starting price of $1,999 USD.
Apple is also reportedly adjusting its traditional release schedule, potentially reserving the standard iPhone 18 models for spring 2027. Meanwhile, the September presentation could include the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5.
The keynote is also expected to mark John Ternus's first major product presentation as Apple's CEO, following his reported succession of Tim Cook on September 1. Although Apple has confirmed the event date, the anticipated product specifications, pricing and lineup remain subject to official announcement.
